The role of the Electrical Draftsperson is to produce electrical drawings as detailed by the engineering team, to coordinate 3D modeling with the structural and piping departments and to utilize “X-Referenced drawings” as the basis for much of the design.

Job Duties:

• Drafting electrical layout of skids and buildings.
• Cable tray layouts.
• Schematic Diagrams.
• Single line Diagrams.
• Wiring Diagrams.
• Block diagrams.
• Bill of materials
• Drawing control, copying, and plotting.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Proficient in AutoCad 2011.
• Knowledge in Electrical Drafting for Petrochemical Plants.
• Familiarity with E-Plan Would be an Asset.
• Proficient in Autocad 3D and X-Referenced Applications

Education & Experience:

• Auto-Cad Certificate.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in the electrical industry as a CAD operator.
• Knowledge in troubleshooting CAD issues, 3D modeling, X-Ref’s is an asset
• Experience with CEC and IEC standards is an asset.

Working Conditions:

Requires work to be performed in both the fabrication shop and office however the bulk is office based and computer oriented. Inter-department communication is a large requirement for this position therefore it is essential to possess good communication skills in both oral and written English language. In addition deadlines are very important hence ability to prioritize workloads is essential. Office space is located in an open office area, therefore space may be shared with a colleague in a similar discipline.
